The athlete earned international recognition and admiration when she gave the world one of its most memorable moments in the history of sports when she scored the first ever perfect 10 on bars that were symmetrical during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. And, to top it off, she went to score six more perfect 10s, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist in history, only 14 years old age. The accomplishments of Nadia Comaneci have not just attracted attention from all angles however she also assisted Romania get a foothold in the world map. The achievement of an impossible score made this sports icon famous and popularized gymnastics across all over the world. Moreover, it changed the people's perspective of female athletes.
